In the live concert industry, professionals frequently encounter challenging situations that demand quick and accurate calculations on the spot.

Imagine arriving at a venue where, despite assurances from the local promoter that everything would be set up beforehand, critical equipment such as PA systems and lighting gear remains unassembled. This scenario often results in delays exceeding an hour, during which technicians must perform essential calculations under time constraints. The inability to access a laptop for detailed work can complicate preparations further.

LiveToolkit offers a practical solution by enabling audio, lighting, and technical personnel to perform necessary calculations directly on their iPhone®, iPod touch®, or iPad®. This tool facilitates various functions, including:

<li>Calculating delay times for PA systems through conversions between time and distance.</li>
<li>Determining stacking distances of subs by converting between frequency and wavelength.</li>
<li>Transferring PA settings into controllers via conversion between Q-Factor and bandwidth.</li>
<li>Assisting in setup adjustments such as limiter calculations based on speaker capacity and amplifier output.</li>
<li>Estimating musicians’ tempo through tap-tempo features with different note weightings.</li>
</ul>

For lighting technicians, LiveToolkit provides functionalities such as:

<ul>
<li>Calculating starting addresses for multiple fixtures based on quantity, channels, and initial address used.</li>
<li>Ensuring accurate DMX address assignment by interpreting DIP switch configurations or identifying address values.</li>
</ul>

Additionally, the application supports general technical calculations relevant to various roles, including:

<ul>
<li>Unit conversions between feet and meters, pounds and kilograms.</li>
<li>Electrical calculations switching between Watts, Amperes, and Volts.</li>
<li>Estimating voltage drop over cable lengths based on profile.</li>
<li>Trigonometric computations for height estimations from angles and distance measurements.</li>
</ul>
